#pledge4patients aims to ensure that whoever forms the next Government will be committed to ensuring patients affected by genetic conditions get access to the right care and treatment. Effective treatments exist for only a minority of rare conditions, yet patients face significant barriers in trying to access these treatments.
Complexities in the NICE appraisal and commissioning processes have led to inconsistent decisions that result in inequitable access to medicines for patients with rare conditions. Change is desperately needed – please support this campaign by contacting your MP or parliamentary candidate and asking them to sign up to the pledges below:
– enhance access to appropriate care and treatment.
– improve the pathways to an accurate diagnosis.
– foster research and innovation to deliver new cures and treatments.
– ensure that Britain remains a key player in international health collaborations.
