Niemann-Pick UK Chair, Will Evans, give his positive message for 2018 as we enter the New Year…
On behalf of all staff and the board of trustees at NPUK, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year.
2017 was our busiest year as a charity to date, and I am in no doubt that 2018 will be busier still.
Here in the UK, we saw the continuation of the clinical trials in NP-C and ASMD, and the commencement of a fourth, CTD Holdings’ trial of Trappsol. The charity have welcomed a new Families Officer, Steve Neal to the team, and towards the latter end of the year we held our largest ever Family Conference.
In November we were delighted to see NPUK receive such a high profile working with Children In Need. Thanks to everyone involved – it’s no small thing to open yourselves up in such a public forum, but in doing so you increase awareness of NP diseases, and with awareness comes hope.
For those who have lost loved ones in 2017, my heartfelt wishes go out to you. Your loved ones will not be forgotten. NPUK will continue to work for all those affected by these diseases – current and future patients and in memory of those taken too soon.
With my warmest wishes for 2018,
