We are happy to announce that Dafydd Taylor, whose cousin Yasmin has Niemann-Pick disease, will be taking part in the gruelling challenge that is the Virgin Money London Marathon 2017 in support of NPUK. This long distance event, which spans a massive 26 miles, has been a world renowned event since 1981, only suitable for the most dedicated of charity fundraisers! We are incredibly proud to have Dafydd representing Niemann-Pick UK for such a high-profile event.

Dafydd had this to say about the reasoning behind his run:

“My cousin, Yasmin, 15, who has Niemann-Pick, is the reason I know about this disease with no proven treatment, and why on 23 April I’ll be running the London marathon to raise money for Niemann-Pick UK.

This will be my first marathon and by far the biggest physical challenge I have ever taken on. It’s going to be tough. I will be training hard through winter and spring to get myself into my best shape possible to complete the course. During this period, Yassie will be doing her bit too – taking part in a clinical trial.

The picture show us in the Niemann-Pick UK running kit – although she’s more of a singer and dancer!”

Look out on the NPUK Facebook page for upcoming sponsorship details – well done Dafydd, we will support you every step of the way!
