Niemann-Pick UK (NPUK) is proud to be a member of the International Niemann-Pick Disease Alliance (INPDA), a global network of non-profit organisations dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by Niemann-Pick diseases. Formed in 2009, the INPDA unites patient groups worldwide to create a stronger, more connected community in the fight against these rare, life-limiting genetic disorders.

The INPDA is a worldwide network of non-profit organisations dedicated to supporting people affected by Niemann-Pick diseases (NPD). It serves as a collaborative platform where patient groups and professionals come together to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices relating to both ASMD (Types A & B) and Niemann-Pick type C (NPC). The INPDA works based on four key pillars:

Our Role in the INPDA

As a member of the INPDA, NPUK actively contributes to this global effort by:

    • Sharing insights from our research and patient support programmes to benefit the wider Niemann-Pick community.

    • Participating in international conferences and symposia to exchange knowledge and drive progress.

    • Collaborating on advocacy initiatives to amplify the voices of those affected by Niemann-Pick diseases.

Impact of the INPDA

Since its inception, the INPDA has built a robust network that empowers member organisations to achieve more together than they could alone. By connecting patient groups from diverse regions, the alliance has:

    • Accelerated the dissemination of critical information about Niemann-Pick diseases.

    • Supported the development of global research projects, including clinical trials and patient registries.

    • Provided a lifeline for families, offering hope and solidarity through shared experiences.

Get Involved

The INPDA’s work depends on the collaboration and dedication of its member organisations, supporters, and the wider community. You can support the alliance’s mission by:
