NPUK relies on grants and voluntary donations to ensure that we can continue our work supporting those affected by Niemann-Pick diseases, their families and friends. That’s why we are so grateful to our generous grant funders for choosing to recognise and support the work we do to meet the needs of our community.
Below you’ll find a selection of our amazing grant providers who help to ensure that we can continue to provide our vital service to our community:
The Sir James Knott Trust provides grants for registered charities, community groups, and social enterprises in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, County Durham, and Hartlepool, focusing on local community projects that address basic needs. The Niemann-Pick UK Central Office is based in Washington, in just outside of Newcastle/Gateshead, and due to the nature of our work our service is often times revolves around close-working with the community and those in the area, whether this be those who have an NPD diagnosis and require access to our care and support service, or the many fundraising/benefits that we hold, we are proud to be recipients of this funding.
We were awarded £15K (over 3 years) from The Sir James Knott Trust, and are excited to see the impact this will make for the community in and around our local area – we will be sharing more on the success of our project(s) over the course of the three years. Thank you to the Team at The Sir James Knott Trust for making the process so accessible throughout, and of course for awarding us this grant!
The Bailey Thomas Charitable Fund offers grants and support in times of need, for health and wellbeing ,to encourage an active lifestyle and to advance learning – at Niemann-Pick UK we believe that there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to health, and as such our Care & Support service is flexible and responsive to the needs of our patients and community members. Access to this grant means that we can bring this even further, and better cater for the ever-changing needs of those affected by Niemann-Pick diseases in the UK.
We were very kindly awarded £15K from The Bailey Thomas Charitable Fund, which will go a long way for our small charity in responding to the multi-faceted needs of patients, parents, families, friends, and wider network that all make up the “NPUK Family” – after all, a rare disease does not just affect the one who has it, it affects so many more.
Huge thank you to The Bailey Thomas Charitable Fund, we hugely appreciate it!
The James Tudor Foundation was established to provide relief of human sickness and provide grants to charities whose primary focus is health-related – Niemann-Pick UK (NPUK) fall into this category due to our extensive and empathetic care and support service, which covers both the clinical and non-clinical side for our patients and families.
As a result of our application, we were kindly awarded £10K to help support our vital service in 2025/2026 – we want to say a huge thank you to the Team at The James Tudor Foundation, this funding will make a direct difference to those affected by Niemann-Pick diseases and their families.
